While discovering their roots, they quickly find the differences between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa. Despite long-lost relatives, romantic rivals and scheming hunters, Africa seems like a great place…but is it better than their Central Park home?

Review: I have to admit that I have not seen the the first movie in the series, “Madagascar“, so I do not know if that would have helped or not.
I thnk the moive is well made and all that, but there is nothing really interesting in the story or new about the different characters. I feels, as with many movies produced for kids, like the are trying to profit from the success of the prequel. Nothing fresh or special with this one.
Great voices and animations all the way throught it though.
1.5/5

Review: One of the rawest and most brutal movies I have experienced. Even though the action scences are few they feel so real you feel sick. The characters are believable and you really care about what will happen to them. It is a simple story line and I personally think that helps if you are trying to get a message through. So whats the message; there is nothing glamorous about beating a man to death.

Watch it – Best drama comedy since “As Good As It Gets”
Story: Meet Mr Pincus, a lonesome and bitter dentist in Manhattan. He has spent his whole life avoiding people and public places. When waking up from surgery, a routine procedure, he finds out that he has spent 7 minutes as dead on the operating table.
Because of his brief state of deadness, he now has the ability to see and talk to ghost.
Cast:
Ricky Gervais (“Bertram Pincus”)
Greg Kinnear (“Frank Herlihy”)
Téa Leoni (“Gwen”)

Review: A real feel-good drama. Brings up a lot of different aspects in/of life. As I am a quite frank and realistic person, I could relate alot to the main character of this movie
.
Ghost Town reminds me a bit of the feeling you got in “As Good As It Gets” and that in a good way. Good solid cast including Téa Leoni, which in my opinion does to few movies. Alltogether a must see for anyone who are not dead inside.

Watch it – If you like family adventure
Story: The people in the City of Ember, have lived underground for over 200 years. Protected by their forefathers, who sent them here to escape the disaster, which made the earth surface unhabitable. Now it is once again time to claim the world humans were meant to live in, but no one knows or rembers the stories that were told so many years ago.

Cast:
Harry Treadaway (“Doon Harrow”)
Saorise Ronan (“Lina Mayfleet”)
Bill Murray (“Mayor Cole”)
Tim Robbins (“Loris Harrow”)

Buy (DVD), Buy (Blueray)
Review: Surprisingly many known actors in this production; Murray and Robbins are just two of them. The movie feels as a highbudget movie made to entertain the kids, which is fine. I expected somewhat a moore adventure-action ,when a watched the trailer, so I was a bit disappointed.

Watch it – Quite different and tragic

Cast:
Julianne Moore (“The Doctor’s Wife”)
Mark Ruffalo (“The Doctor”)
Alice Braga (“The Woman with Dark Glasses”)
Danny Glover (“The Man with the Black Eye Patch”)
Gael Garcia Bernal (“King of Ward Three”)

Review: Different and interesting movie this one. I found the concept quite unique. Making the whole story revolve around this small group of namless people made oneself aware of the human fragilety and its ability to surrender itself to others during difficult times.
Watching this movie made me really uncomfortable, nothing I enjoyed.

Watch it – An amazing piece of history
Story: During the 2nd World War, the three Bielski brothers leave their homes to take refuge in the great forests of Belarus. The Germans are a mission to conquer the world and eradicate every trace of human diversity. Torn between protecting their people and supporting the Red Army, the brothers must endure the Third Reich’s invasion to survive.
Cast:
Daniel Craig (“Tuvia Bielski”)
Liev Shreiber (“Zus Bielski”)
Jamie Bell (“Asael Bielski”)
Alexa Davalos (“Lilka Ticktin”)

Buy (DVD), Buy (Blueray)
Review:
This movie came as a total surprise to me. I watch alot and read alot about this industry, despite this did not have a clue.
Daniel Craig has been one of the favorites on the screen ever since I saw “Layer Cake”. The whole story and experience watching it, have a real authentic feel. Maybe one of the few movies in years where the actors have not been “pimped” to perfection to look good. If you feel like shit, you should look like shit. All characters seem real.
Defiance is engaging all the way through, you never know who will live or die.
4/5

Watch it – And wake up
Story: Follow the great Bill Maher on his quest on question religion. Using his unique skills to confront and ridicule the unbelievable beliefs of the worlds most distorted religions.

Cast:
Bill Maher (“Bill Maher”)
Confused leaders/spokesmen (“Religious People”)
Links:
Official site, IMDB, Wikipedia, Trailer (HD)
Buy (DVD), Buy (Blueray)
Review: Always liked Bill Maher and his stand up comedy. Loved “The Decider”. In this movie Maher succeeds to show some of the most twisted people claiming they are doing God’s work. Some of them can handle Bill on his crusade, some cannot. I think this is a real eye-opener for the average American.
